ILA and ALABC to Energize Lead Battery Industry at 16ABC in Bangkok

The International Lead Association and Advanced Lead Acid Battery Consortium will be working to promote lead battery research and innovation at the 16th Asian Battery Conference (16ABC) September 8-11 at the Centara Grand Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand.  Both organizations will be well-represented with presentations throughout the conference and through a joint display in the conference exhibit hall.  In addition, industry representatives are invited to attend the ALABC Members & Contractors Meeting on Sept 8 to learn more about the Consortium’s new 2016-18 R&D program and its planned collaboration with ILA.

Industry Presentations

The 16ABC program features presentations by: 

  • ILA Managing Director Andy Bush on how the industry can rise to the challenge to develop a sustainable future; 
  • ALABC Program Manager Boris Monahov on carbon additives in lead-acid batteries; 
  • ALABC Chairman Tim Ellis on future requirements of lead-based materials in the battery industry; and 
  • ALABC European Projects Coordinator Allan Cooper on working with OEMs on low-cost, low-voltage, micro/mild hybridization.

Exhibit Booth at A3

The ILA/ALABC display will be at booth A3 of the 16ABC Exhibit Floor Plan, and will feature an arrangement of mock batteries from some of the Consortium’s battery producer members, including ArcActive, Furukawa, Narada, East Penn, Advanced Battery Concepts and Energy Power Systems.  Staff will be on hand to discuss the new 2016-18 ALABC Program while displaying several of the latest publications from both organizations.

ALABC Meetings on Sept 8

All current and prospective ALABC members and project contractors are invited to attend the 2015 ALABC Members & Contractors Meeting on the morning of Sept. 8, which will include presentations on some of the new and ongoing projects, as well as plans for the new R&D program.  Immediately following, the ALABC Fall Steering Committee meeting is open only to members of the ALABC Steering Committee, and will include discussions on the 2016-18 ALABC Prospectus and other relevant materials and actions.
