Hybrid Electric Vehicles
By most accounts, HEVs are the likely
near-term successor to traditional internal combustion engined (ICE)
vehicles. The Honda Insight (pictured at right) was the first
production HEV offered for sale in the U.S., but it has since been
followed by a host of other hybrids from Toyota, Ford, General Motors
and others. Virtually every major automaker has a hybrid either
in its line-up or under development.
